Redmine Integration

Hello,

I'm exploring community version of Klaros and would like to use it with Redmine.
Klaros currently requires Redmine admin user credentials to interface with Redmine. IMHO, using Redmine API key (corresponding to a given user, binded to a given redmine project) is a better method. Do you plan to switch to this kind of usage?

Thanks.

Hello Ilyes,

thank you for your input!

Klaros currently requires Redmine admin user credentials to interface with Redmine.

Just to clarify this: admin credentials are only required for the background synchronization of issues.
This is due to a deficiency in the Redmine-API regarding custom fields we sadly can not circumvent.

For creating, editing or linking issues this is not required and any normal account will do.

You are correct, that API keys are generally the better solution here, so we implemented this under KLAROS-4672 today.

This will allow you to specify the API-Key in the password field when leaving the username empty.

This improvement will be available with the next release 5.0.9.

Kind regards,

Torsten
