How is Klaros-Test­management licensed?

The Community Edition can be used free of charge, even for commercial purposes. A license for the commercial Enterprise Edition consists of licenses for a fixed number of active users for a single server installation (on premises). Klaros-Test­management is also available as cloud-based service available (on demand), which is also licensed per user. For both models, a minimum of three licensed users is considered.

How are users counted towards licenses?

A licensed user is by definition any activated user account with the permission to log in to the application. The number of activated users must not exceed the number of licensed users. It does not matter if a user is currently logged in or not. This means that more users can be created in the system than were licensed, but the surplus users must not be activated.

What does Klaros-Test­management cost?

The Community Edition is available free of charge. The price for a server installation, the Enterprise Edition starts at 1280,- € and includes licenses for 3 users. The smallest cloud variant also comes with licenses for 3 users, starting at 80,- € per month. Additional user licenses can be purchased depending on your needs. How can I evaluate Klaros-Test­management?

What additional value does the Mobile Edition offer?

With the Mobile Edition you can perform your manual test cases offline or away from your computer workstation on a mobile device and upload them directly or at a later date to the server. Additionally, the mobile device gives additional options for the documentation of test results using audio, video or GPS.

Can I easily switch from the Community Edition to the Enterprise Edition or the Mobile Edition?

Yes, an existing installation of the Community Edition can be converted at any time by installing an Enterprise Edition or Mobile Edition license key. Existing data will remain, you can continue working seamlessly.

Can the Enterprise and Mobile Editions also be used on a time-limited basis?

Yes, you can also use Klaros-Test­management as a Cloud/On-Demand service. The usage period can be monthly or yearly at a discount.

How long do you need to set up the service? What is its availability?

We usually require one working day for setup and guarantee an uptime of 99.5% for the year.

The number of testers used varies depending on the period of development. Can I change the number of users?

Yes, you can always purchase additional user licenses. The reduction of licenses is possible at any time with notice 4 weeks before the end the booked usage period (month or year).

I want to change the server Klaros-Test­management is installed on. What will happen to my license?

Please send us an e-mail with the new server ID. You will find this in Klaros-Test­management on the Overview page in the Configure section. Immediately, but no later than the next business day you will receive a new license key. The old license key loses its validity.

How can I order Klaros-Test­management Enterprise Edition or Mobile Edition?

You can order by email or fax. In each case, we need the following information:

  • Your full name
  • The name of your company
  • The billing address of your company
  • For orders from EU countries, the VAT identification number
  • The edition you wish to purchase (Enterprise or Mobile)
  • The type of license (server license or rental license)
  • The number of licenses you would like to purchase

What happens after my order?

Within one business day we will send you a PDF document by e-mail containing your order confirmation and invoice, which you can check for accuracy. In addition you will receive the software maintenance contract and the software license contract as well as a temporary 30 day license key by request, in order to begin work straight away.

When will I receive my permanent license key?

After we receive the full sum you will receive the license key, made out to the name and server ID you have provided, under which Klaros-Test­management should be installed. In addition, you will receive a delivery slip continuing the confirmation of receipt of payment and the delivery date.

How can I pay?

The invoice you receive from us is due upon receipt. We currently only accept Euro bank transfers and international money orders as payment methods.

What support is available for the Enterprise/Mobile Edition and what does it cost?

Support for the Enterprise/Mobile Edition for the first year is included in the purchase price. This includes a software maintenance contract valid for one year upon receipt of order. Included in this maintenance contract is comprehensive e-mail and forum support as well as free upgrades to all new versions released within this time frame.

How long does the maintenance contract last and what happens after?

Purchase of the Enterprise Edition or Mobile Edition includes a maintenance contract which is valid for a year after receipt of order. Before the end of this period we will contact you regarding an extension of your maintenance contract. You will then have the opportunity to extend your maintenance contract for 50% of the price of the initial purchase. If you intend to extend your maintenance contract we recommend that you do this 30 days before it expires.

What happens if my maintenance contract expires?

If you do not require any support or further updates you can simply let the contract expire. You can resume the contract at any time.

How can I renew my maintenance contract?

You can renew a maintenance contract at any time. The extension of the contract begins on the expiry date of the previous maintenance contract, independent of the date of purchase of the maintenance contract renewal.
